Home-Check

What is the Home-Check actually?

The Home-Check offers the possibility to easily, quickly, and affordably determine the current value of a collector vehicle and communicate this value to the insurance company. The owner takes photos of his vehicle according to specific guidelines, determines an overall condition rating based on the classic-analytics checklist, and determines the value of his vehicle, including all factors affecting value, based on researched prices. He receives a valuation certificate as a PDF document, which he can submit to his insurance company with a request to adjust the insurance value, thereby avoiding underinsurance.

What does the Home-Check cost and what do I get for it?

The Home-Check costs EUR35.00. You will receive a valuation certificate with the data of your vehicle, photos, and market values currently researched by us. The delivery is made directly as a PDF document.

My car is already insured. Will my insurance accept the Home-Check?

Yes. The Home-Check has been presented to classic car insurance companies and is accepted for updating the insurance value.

I want to insure my classic car for the first time. Can I do that with your Home-Check?

Many insurance companies (e.g., OCC, ADAC, Hiscox, HDI, Württembergische for cars and motorcycles only) even accept our Home-Check as a substitute for an appraisal for initial insurance. Others have stricter acceptance criteria and require valuation by an expert (Professional-Check).

For which vehicles is a Home-Check possible?

For all standard cars and motorcycles. Other vehicle types such as modified vehicles, racing cars, trucks etc. can be evaluated by one of our appraisal partners.

What do I need for the Home-Check?

You need 6 digital vehicle photos and a condition rating determined by you with the help of our checklist. Additionally, you'll need the technical data of your vehicle (e.g., from the registration certificate).

When will I receive the valuation certificate?

Usually within one working day. Even for vehicles that require extensive research.

Can I use the Home-Check for buying or selling a car?

The Home-Check is only intended for assessing a value for insurance purposes.
You can obtain valuation reports in a compact form (Professional-Check) or in a more comprehensive format (Expert-Check) through our appraisal partners.

I already have a Home-Check and want to have the vehicle condition additionally confirmed by an expert. Is that possible?

Yes, our appraisal partners are happy to verify the condition rating you have determined as part of an Expert-Check.

Update-Service

Is the Update-Service a newsletter?

No. You will not receive an email from us until the value of your vehicle has increased. This can be in 2 weeks, 2 months or maybe in 2 years.

Am I obliged by the Update-Service to have a new appraisal created?

No. It is up to you whether and how you react to the increase in value.

What kind of data are stored?

Make and model of your vehicle and your email address. That is all we need to compare vehicle values. Nothing else.

My classic car insurance contains a provision for value increases. Is the Update-Service still useful?

Yes. Most insurances contain a maximum of 10 percent increase in value, but the average annual increase in value of a classic car is already 5 to 7 percent. The limit to underinsurance is therefore usually exceeded after 2 years.
In the event of a claim, individual insurers pay between 10% and 20% above the vehicle value attested in the appraisal.

Do others offer this Update-Service?

No, the Update-Service for classic car prices is only available from classic-analytics.
